Work starts on new organ for Basilica in Poland
Construction has begun in our workshop of a 55-stop, mechanical-action organ for the Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows in Limanowa, Poland.
The pipes will be located in two cases. The Hauptwerk, Récit expressif, Schwellwerk and Pedal will go on the main gallery and the Fernwerk on a gallery near the altar. Work on the project is expected to take a year.
The Basilica was built between 1910 –1918 on the site of a 16th century temple and was elevated to the rank of a minor basilica in 1991 by Pope John Paul II.
